GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Jade Salters recorded her season- high in points to lead the Lady Pioneers to a bounce back win at home on Saturday afternoon over Concord inside the Waco Center, 76-72.
GSU took an early lead after Ashlyn Riley scored the first two points of the game and would build their lead to nine after a Dream Cherry layup, however Concord fought back to cut the lead to five at the end of one quarter. The second quarter was back and forth as neither team could make much of a run but baskets by Mycala Carney, Jhakia Gist and Jade Salters made the score 43-39 in favor of the blue and white at halftime.
The third quarter was low scoring as both teams went cold from the field and Concord would cut into the GSU lead after baskets from Skylar Davidson and Alexis Frazee. GSU clinged to a one-point lead after three quarters of play. In the fourth, Salters and Stevi Yancy carried the Lady Pioneers to victory with Yancy scoring six in the final 10 minutes and Salters having four, including her layup with 13 seconds left put the game away as GSU hung on and won by a score of 76-72.

Alexis Frazee had 26 points and four rebounds to lead the Mountain Lions while Abbie Smith had 17 points and four rebounds. Former Lady Pioneer Sanaiya Morris had nine points and seven rebounds while former member of the 2022 GSU National Championship team Skylar Davidson chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds and nine assists.

Jade Salters had a season-high 20 points and shot 8-12 from the field while collecting five rebounds and four steals. Nwando Okigbo had another double-double as she registered 17 points along with 19 rebounds. Dream Cherry had 11 points three boards and three assists with Ashlyn Riley and Mycala Carney both having eight points for the Lady Pioneers.
