Salvatore “Sam” Oliveto, 68, of Shinnston, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at his home. He was born April 26, 1957 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Pete and Mary P. Cerullo Oliveto.

Sam is survived by his children, Dylan Oliveto and his wife Kim; and Rachel Oliveto and her husband Garry Allen; his grandchildren, Alexia Oliveto; Myah Heldreth; and Kylin Oliveto; his great-granddaughter, Laylee Jarvis; his sister, Deanna Zirkle and her husband Tim; his companion, Penny Eagle; and his long-time friend and mechanic, Bobby Boggs; as well as several nieces and nephews, and close friends.

He was a graduate of Shinnston High School Class of 1975. Sam was the owner of Sal’s Garage, a local repair shop that was just as importantly a daily hangout for the area biker crew and “Gearheads”. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding with his many friends. Sam loved to tinker with most anything.

Known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, Sam loved spending time with them. He always had candy in his pocket and was happy to help them with anything that they needed. Sam will be missed by many people in the Shinnston area.

In keeping with Sam’s wishes, cremation services were provided by Perine Funeral Home. There will be no public services at this time. Online memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.perinefunerals.com

The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Oliveto family.
