The City of Shinnston started the Christmas 2024 Season on Saturday, December 7 with a Christmas Bazaar at the Lighthouse until 2 PM. Then there was a Christmas Market on the Green in the early evening with vendors and activities. At 6:30 the Shinnston Christmas Parade started down Pike Street to the Green where now, the Shinnston Lions Club Christmas tree and decorations were lit and the drawing of the Lincoln High School Band Boosters Raffle was drawn. Many then went to the Lighthouse for the Annual Christmas Concert. .
The Concert began with a performance by the Mountain Aires, a singing group of men from Morgantown. The Shinnston Community Band performed their annual Christmas Concert for the large crowd. The Lincoln High School DECA and the Business Class of Mrs. Julie Yearago hosted a lighted trail walk on the West Fork River Rail-Trail. There was so much going on in Shinnston Saturday – something for everyone!
