It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thelma Louise Stanley, who passed away peacefully at her home on July 20, 2025.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1941, in Marion County. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a cherished long-time member of the Swisher Hill Community. She attended Bethesda Baptist Church in Barrackville, WV.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Dale; her parents Charles and Viriginia Miller; along with many siblings. She is survived by her three children, son Richard and Robin Stanley, son Sherman and Carol Stanley, and daughter Susan Thomas. She has four grandchildren, Richard Stanley II, Sherman Stanley Jr., Andrew Ashcraft and Amanda Ashcraft, along with eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered most for her unwavering support and love of family. She enjoyed crafting, camping, and cooking, and was a long-time member of the Lazy Daisy Womens Club, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and a life-long volunteer at various homeless organizations. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She attended services at several local churches and befriended many during her full and beautiful life.

Succeeding cremation, a graveside service will be announced at a later date, and will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Enterprise.  Family and friends are welcome to attend. Flowers and donations may be sent to Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston. Following the graveside service, all are welcome to visit her home to share refreshments, memories, and support.

Online memories and condolences may be shared at harmerfuneralhome.com
