Harrison/Doddridge County, 011/27/2023 – The United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties is delighted to announce the outstanding achievements of the Lewis Marshall Swann Education Fund in positively impacting the lives of over 22 students and six teachers within our local private Christian schools. This fund, made possible through the generous contributions of Larry and Amy Swann in the amount of $50,000, has provided crucial support to ALICE (Asset Limited. Income Constrained. Employed.) families in our community, offering a lifeline during challenging times. It is with immense gratitude that we announce that Larry and Amy plan to continue to support the fund with an additional $50,000 donation. Please join us at Clarksburg Baptist Church on November 30th at 3:30 p.m. for a meet and greet.
The Lewis Marshall Swann Education Fund has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to serving working families facing adversity, including those grappling with cancer diagnoses, children coping with the loss of a parent, children with disabilities, and single mothers striving to provide quality education for their children. By addressing the unique needs and struggles faced by these families attending local private Chrisitan schools, the fund has become an invaluable resource and a beacon of hope for those in need. Also, it is our hope that more qualifying families from Doddridge County will utilize the fund to support their children.
One of the key aspects of this fund’s success lies in its dedication to supporting both students and teachers. In addition to assisting families, the Lewis Marshall Swann Education Fund has also facilitated valuable training opportunities for Christian school educators. Through this funding, these teachers have gained access to professional development programs, enhancing their skills and abilities to effectively educate and inspire the students they serve. By investing in their professional growth, the fund ensures that students receive the highest quality education possible.
The impact of the Lewis Marshall Swann Education Fund cannot be overstated. It has been a true blessing for numerous individuals and families within our community, providing them with the support and resources needed to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. As an organization, the United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties encourages other nonprofits to think innovatively and compassionately when devising strategies to serve our children and families. A child should not have to worry about their education and life being further disrupted because of unforeseen hardships. The success of the Lewis Marshall Swann Education Fund serves as a powerful testament to the transformative power of caring and effective initiatives.
United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties extends its deepest gratitude to Larry and Amy Swann for their unwavering commitment to our community. Their generosity and dedication have made a profound difference in the lives of those facing adversity, and we are honored to work alongside them in creating a brighter future for Harrison and Doddridge County families. We encourage others to follow in their footsteps by generously supporting this cause and United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties’ additional 22 funded programs.
