Wanda June Knotts, 72, of Jane Lew, passed away at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was born on September 19, 1952 in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Clovis Woodrow Tucker and Mary Bridgett “McPartland” Tucker.

Wanda graduated from Lumberport High School class of 1971. She enjoyed playing BINGO, painting, and attending church at the local nursing homes. Wanda would always check on all of her nephews and niece, William Tucker II and Mamaw Hall and Glenda’s sister, Sharon. She loved to buy her nephews and niece something small for Christmas and send birthday cards if she could. After her church services at the nursing home, she would call and tell me that she has prayed for everyone. Wanda was a caring sister.

Our dad gave all of us nicknames, and Wanda’s was “Doddle”.

Wanda is survived by one brother, William Thomas Tucker and wife Glenda of Lumberport; five nephews, Patrick Lane and wife Sara of Destin, FL, Shawn Lane and wife Casey of Lumberport, John Wolfe of Burke, VA, William Tucker II and wife Mary Kate of Lawrence, KS, and Matthew Tucker and wife Lynsie of Fairmont; one niece, Ashley Tucker of Lumberport; several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Knotts; two sisters, Katheryn Lane and Patricia Wolfe; one nephew, James Wolfe.

Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Stire officiating. Interment will follow at Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.

Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the Knotts family.
