The Woman’s Club of Shinnston met September 18 th with Co-President Mary Ann Ferris presiding. Wanda Ashcraft gave a devotional program in honor of Labor Day, citing many famous quotes regarding the value of work.
The group said the Pledge to the Flag in unison.
Judy Wilson gave a fascinating display, “dressing” a pioneer woman from the inside out. Almost all the garments were spun, woven and hand made by Wilson, herself. Judy cited the background and use of each piece of clothing as she dressed the mannequin. The program was very well received.
Refreshments including fresh garden tomatoes, tortilla soup, homemade pepperoni rolls and snickerdoodles were enjoyed. In a brief business meeting, plans for the upcoming Bean and ham dinner were discussed.
Present, not previously mentioned were: Donna Mick, Debra Herndon, Debby Starkey, Viviene Spagnuolo and Kathleen Panek.
