On Sunday, the Lincoln Cougar Cub youth football midget division team, ranked #4, played the #1 ranked Bridgeport Midgets in the Mountaineer Youth Football 2022 Midget Division Playoffs

The Bridgeport Midgets had not had a team score on them at all this season until the second quarter when #11 Felix Blake threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to #7 Nick Glaspell.

Unfortunately, that was the only score the Lincoln Midgets made; the final score was 46-6.

The team had been determined to at least be the first team to score on Bridgeport this year, which they accomplished.

This team also won the first playoff game last week in Shinnston.

Sunday was the last time the following boys will step out onto that field as a Lincoln Cougar Cub Midget: #7 Nick Glaspell, #11 Felix Blake, #10 Coleton Lanham, #74 Issac Elliott, #28 Braydon Booth, #20 Talon Evans, #91 Jackson Lowe.

They will have to move up to middle school next year. Collin Shriver and Zade Hoinville must maintain a weight under 135 pounds in order to return to Midgets next year or they will also have to move up to middle school along with the other boys.

The Mountaineer Youth Football championship will be held at Lincoln High School on Sunday at 1 p.m.
