In a news release, the Harrison County Extension Master Gardeners invited the public to join them for a plant
exchange at 10 a.m., Saturday in the gazebo of the Harrison County Parks and Recreation Complex.
Be sure to arrive early to get checked in prior to the swap. If you have a plant that you’ve been needing to separate, just don’t enjoy anymore, or want to share, this event is for you. Outdoor and indoor plants are welcome, as well as vegetables you may have started from seed.
If you want to share seeds, bring them along as well.
The rules for the plant exchange are simple. You must bring at least one plant or transplant to take a plant. Absolutely no money is to be exchanged. Do not start exchanging plants until 10 a.m., and please do not bring any invasive plants. If you have questions about what is considered an invasive plant, check out: https://extension.wvu.edu/lawn-gardening-pests/gardening/garden-management/invasive-species-in-your-landscape.
Following the plant exchange, Harrison County Master Gardeners will be presenting information on how to care for your new transplants. This will be a great opportunity to learn from Master Gardeners and to ask your burning questions about caring for young or new transplants.
If you have further questions about the plant exchange, please call Jennifer Friend at the Harrison County Extension Office, 304-624-8650 or email jefriend@mail.wvu.edu.
