Bridgeport, WV—Mollie McCartney Cecil, MD, FAAFP, specializes in medical weight management, gearing the program to the needs of the individual by focusing on four areas: food, movement, behavior change, and medical management. It’s an approach that finds what works for the individual because everyone’s weight management journey differs.
Dr. Cecil is a summa cum laude graduate of West Virginia University, earning dual degrees in history and biology. She continued her education at WVU by earning her medical degree, and then took her residency in the university’s Department of Family Medicine. She also returned to the school and earned a master’s degree in history.
She has held various positions, most recently as Women’s Health Medical Director at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. In addition to being a practicing physician, she has taught at WVU School of Medicine as an assistant professor.
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Cecil is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians.
