Clara B. Paugh, 93, of Shinnston, passed away on August 13, 2024 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV after an extended illness, with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 22, 1931, in Harrison County, a daughter to the late Earl Carder and Ruth Johnson Carder.
Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband Emerson W. Zirkle on Dec. 19, 1971, and her second husband Denver W. Paugh on March 23, 1996.
Surviving includes one daughter, Susan (Zirkle) Bailey of Clarksburg; two sisters Carol Greaver and Nancy (Larry) Golden both of Shinnston; one stepson Carlton W. Paugh of NC; two stepdaughters Beverly (Marvin) McIntire and Mary Kay Romeo, all of Shinnston; six step-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother-in-law Jack Patrick of Eastlake, OH.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Earl W. Carder and Eugene Carder; five sisters, Virginia Moore, Louise Jones, Anna Lee Johnson, Betty Jo McIntyre, Violet Patrick; her son-in-law Carl “Ernie” Bailey; nephews Richard Lee McIntyre, Dusty McIntyre, Mark Carder; and niece Brenda Jenkins.
She retired from Westinghouse in Fairmont, after sixteen years of services. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Shinnston.
In her younger years, Clara enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, going to church, and most of all, spending time with her daughter. She was a loving, caring, and giving person. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 11:00AM-1:00PM. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
