David Lee “Cat” Greaver, 76, of Shinnston, died on April 14, 2026 at UHC. Dave was the youngest child of the late Luvon and Thomas Greaver of Owings. He was born December 27, 1949 at Owings.

Dave worked in the mines for over thirty years at Robinson Run and Oakdale Portal. He also worked at Hazel Atlas glass factory and other miscellaneous jobs. He graduated from Fairmont State College in 1972.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two older brothers, Thomas (Shirley) and Robert (Carol).

He is survived by his only son, Christopher Michael Greaver of Washington, DC; and by his two sisters, Karen Crayton of FL, and Janet Dotson (Roger) of Shinnston; sister in-law Carol Greaver, and several nieces and nephews.

He loved being active with Shinnston Bocce League, Stonewall Horseshoe League, Robertson Run Portal, and Shinnston Seniors. He was an avid runner, golfer and lottery enthusiast. He loved the Steelers and Pirates, going to WVU ball games, and most importantly, spending time with his son.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 3:00PM-8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00AM with Pastor Mike Farris officiating. Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
