The Page is a new novel by Diana Nelson Jones. Jones is a graduate of Shinnston High School and Ohio University in Athens. Diana is the daughter of the late Dick and Helen Jones.
An award-winning journalist, Jones has had a long career, culminating with three decades at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
In the novel, The Page, Myra has just been downsized from a Pittsburgh newspaper and is forced to come back to her small hometown in West Virginia. There, she must deal with difficult relationships, among which are those with her mother, the man she left behind and old school friends. In starting a newspaper back up, Myra quickly makes both admirers and enemies.
Those who have lived in Shinnston for a while will find many parallels to the setting and will feel right at home. The book has a lot to say about the current state of journalism and the place of local newspapers in our current society.
