Jenkins Subaru was honored by the Highland-Clarksburg Hospital board of directors on Thursday, January 27 for their financial contribution in partnership with the Hospital in the amount of $10,000. The donation was used to fund an imagination playground for the facility’s child activity programs.

Jenkins Subaru reached out to Highland-Clarksburg Hospital in 2016 to form the partnership. Knowing that mental health services for children and youth who are in crisis are so important, Jenkins decided to give back by donating an “Imagination Playground”. The ability to add this type of activity will allow many children and youth to express themselves through play, creativity, and socialization/team building. The therapeutic programs and crisis interventions provided at the hospital are critical to each patient’s individual treatment. The “Imagination Playground” features large foam blocks, tubes and shapes with which patients can build their own creations; a key part of the treatment program for children in crisis.

Matt Jenkins, General Manager of Jenkins Subaru, stated, “We sought out an organization in our area that continues to be on the front lines with the regional drug epidemic. HCHI meets the critical needs of children and adults directly affected by it. We’re proud of our ongoing partnership with Highland-Clarksburg Hospital. It is our hope that this partnership will have a lasting, positive impact towards the well-being of this community we’re a part of.”
