The March Meeting of the West Virginia State Civilian Conservation Corps Museum Association was held at the CCC Museum, Quiet Dell, Harrison County.  Vice President Reggie Rogers conducted the meeting.

The treasurer’s report was given by Joy Winet and approved. The secretary report minutes were taken by Betty Kehrer.

Plans for the Annual Civilian Conservation Corps Anniversary Day Celebration were finalized. The Anniversary Commemorates President Franklin Roosevelt’s signing of the Bill that made the CCC a law back on March 31, 1933.  The Association Celebration Ceremonies will take place Sunday, March 26, 1:30-3:30 honoring the Legacy of the CCC and the accomplishments of the CCC men and women who served from 1933-1942.  Rogers encouraged the public to attend.

Further discussion and planning was held for the Annual Spring CCC Honors Jubilee set for Saturday, April 22, 2017, 9:30 am – 1:30 pm. at the Quiet Dell United Methodist Church dining room, I79 Exit 115. RSVP April 14 to 304-842-3436 for the catered noon luncheon.  Rogers commented: “Both events celebrate the Civilian Conservation Corps.” He added. “The public is cordially invited to come and honor the CCC and visit the museum and barracks on site.”

Dr. Robert Anderson reminded the association of the CCC display featured at the Clarksburg Harrison Library in downtown Clarksburg. Anderson urged the public to check out the historic display.

Harrison County Historical Society’s Crystal Wimer addressed the meeting concerning organization topics.

Joy Winet reported on the February 23rd Tour. Edison Winet, 1931 CCC Truck Chair reported on his visit to Marietta, Ohio at the auto swap meet.

Joy Winet said, “We will have a display at the April 1st Mountaineer History Expo at the Marion County Court House.” Life memberships are available.

Rogers announced the next meeting will be held at the CCC Museum on Sunday April 9, at 2 p.m.
