It’s that time once again to acknowledge the efforts of Harrison County’s student-athletes. Each week we review the performances of the athletes from the six schools (Bridgeport, Liberty, Lincoln, Notre Dame, Robert C. Byrd, and South Harrison) in our county.
The Shinnston News & Harrison County Journal’s Athlete of the Week award is an avenue to promote the youth of our county while bringing attention to their athletic accomplishments.
The Harrison County athletes in the spotlight this week are Bridgeport’s Hayden Anderson and Robert C. Byrd’s Cooper Floyd.
Indian track and field standout, Hayden Anderson, earned high point honors at the Harry Green High School Invitational this past week in Bridgeport. Henderson took home first place finishes in the 200 meter and the long jump.
Flying Eagle baseball player Cooper Floyd had a great couple of weeks. Floyd has had a great couple of weeks. He had a three for three effort that included a home run versus University two weeks ago. Last week, he was two of four with a double against Morgantown and two of five with a home run against Lincoln.
Congratulations to Hayden Anderson and Cooper Floyd for shining bright in the SN and HCJ spotlight!
