Although it was a holiday for many and a day off from school as well, crowds turned out to say ‘thank you’ to local Veterans in Shinnston! Pictured above, a large flag is held by children on Big Elm Elementary School’s parade float. Photo by Britney Moore.

Many gathered at the Clay District Veterans Memorial in Shinnston for the formal dedication of the new Veterans Memorial Bridge. Many officials, Veterans and their family members, and the NJROTC from Lincoln High School marched across the bridge following the dedication – including members of the Patriot Guard Riders, who are pictured above carrying American flags.
