Carol Sue Conner

Carol Sue Conner, 85, of Spelter, passed away on October 7, 2024. She was born on September 10, 1939, in Spelter, a daughter to the late Emmett Conner and Lucy Shingleton Conner.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Ruby C. Palmer (Junior), William C. “Trapper” Conner (Emily)  and Trellis Conner McIntyre (Jasper).

She is survived by her precious daughter, Heather Conner and special niece Cathy McIntyre Oakes (Buddy). Also surviving are several other nieces and nephews, Terry Palmer (Sandra J.), John Todd Palmer (Terri), Steve McIntyre (Kim), Sidney McIntyre (Michelle), Diantha “Dee” Hilton (Tom), R. Kim Conner, MD (Beverly), Stephanie Cross, Tommy Conner (Jeanie), K. Scott Conner (Eva), Eric Conner.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Carol was preceded in death by her niece, Sandra Winters (Clayton) and nephew, Rodney Conner.

Carol retired from PDC Energy. She was a lifelong member of the Spelter United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, choir member, and janitor. She also belonged to Spelter Senior Citizens and Lamberts Run CEO’s. Carol’s favorite past time was watching her daughter play sports and spending time with family and friends.  She was an enthusiastic fan of WVU Mountaineer sports.  She recently celebrated her 85th birthday with Heather for her first game at Mountaineer Field.  Carol loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, and was grateful for his presence in her life.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike St., Shinnston on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 2:00PM-8:00PM.  A funeral service will be at the Spelter United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11:00AM with Rev. Duane Bartrug officiating.  Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
