Carolyn Sue Johnson O’Dell

Carolyn Sue Johnson O’Dell, 75, of Enterprise, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at United Hospital Center. She was born December 18, 1949 in Enterprise, a daughter of Naomi Jean Fink Johnson Byrne, who survives, and the late Charles Clinton Johnson.

In 1987, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell O’Dell.

Sue is survived by her children, Carter O’Dell; Joyce Richardson; Susie Glover and her husband Aaron; John O’Dell and his wife Bobbi Sue; Robert O’Dell and his wife Carly Fluharty – O’Dell, all of Fairmont; Tammy Swick and her husband Sam of Bridgeport; Michelle O’Dell of Fairmont; Aprial Stewart and her husband Jeremy of Grantown; and Sunny O’Dell of Enterprise; as well as 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Barbara Vance and her husband Kent; Nancy Gray; Larry Saurborn and his wife Dawn; Michael Duelley and his wife Connie; Laura Templeton and her husband Tim; and Bruce Byrne.

In addition to her husband and father, Sue was preceded in death by her son, James Richard O’Dell.

Sue enjoyed dancing, gardening, and she loved her some Elvis. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids and sitting on her porch with dogs. Sue also loved visiting her mom.

Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Tuesday, July 22nd, from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm. Pastor Aaron Cayton officiating. Interment will follow at the Enterprise I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Online memories and condolences can be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com
