Cheryal Darlene Floyd Gray, age 76, of Wallace, went to be with our Lord on January 22, 2025. She was born on May 4, 1948, the daughter of the late Ernest Luke Floyd Sr. and Blondena Ruth Cooper Floyd.
Cheryal was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Glen Gray.
She is survived by one son: Brian Jett and his partner, Denalda Bush; five grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Patience, Dakota, Brittany, and their spouses; ten great grandchildren; sisters: Linda Shorter, Ruth Harris, Donna Burton, Lyla Ashley, Bonnie Burton, and Sara Owens; two brothers: Norman and Luke Floyd and their families; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.
Cheryal was a member of the Wallace Church of Christ. She loved bird watching, songwriting, poetry, and spending time with her family. In 2002 she became a published songwriter with Hilltop Records with the song “High on the Lonely Hillside”, which appeared on the album America.
Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike Street , Shinnston, on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.
