Cheryl Ann Beatty, 78, of Hepzibah, passed away at her residence on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1946 in Arlington, WV, daughter of the late Donald and Pauline Grant Lewis.
Cheryl worked as a laundry technician for Mountain State Linen and United Hospital Center. She was a member of the Lifeway Bible Fellowship Church. Cheryl was known for being a loving and caring soul that would do anything for those that were in need. She loved going to church, shopping, spending time with her family, and helping others. Cheryl was a beacon of light and hope in all who knew her. She was the primary strength of our family. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire us. We are grateful for the time we had with her and will cherish the memories forever.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Gary Lynn Beatty; three sons, Paul David Lewis, Clarksburg, Robert Hill and wife Danielle, Lumberport, and Jeff Lewis and wife Stephanie, Bridgeport; three daughters, Kimberly Hill, Stonewood, Tammy Jo Watkins, Bridgeport, and Jennifer Sumpter and husband Brian, Fairmont; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Ricky Lewis, Morgantown; three sisters, Diana Lewis Jackson and husband Kenneth, Morgantown, Donna Forge and husband Cleveland, Clarksburg, and Patty Lewis and companion Dave Smith.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is preceded in death by one son, Chad Lewis; two brothers, Ronald “Boo Boo” Lewis and Jerry Lewis; one half-sister, Judy Prout.
Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00AM with Pastor Tom Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Hepzibah Cemetery.
