Tamarack Foundation for the Arts (TFA) is proud to announce the opening of applications for the Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship (CEF). The call for applications to artists working and residing in West Virginia opens November 1, 2023. The CEF program provides entrepreneurship training and financial literacy education, helping artists boost their business practice with mentoring, education and resources. The program also provides experiences, connections, skills and relationships with West Virginia professional artists and arts institutions to support the fellows in their career goals. Online submissions open on November 1 for the 2024 cohort of Creative Entrepreneurs Fellows on the TFA’s website.

Each year, the TFA’s Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship program awards up to five fellowships to qualified and talented artists working in the fields of traditional and fine craft or visual arts. As of 2023, CEF has named 5 cohorts, with a total of 24 Fellows. The deadline for applications is January 13, 2024. The new CEF cohort will be announced in April 2024. The Fellowship provides technical training, mentoring, consulting, branding, and a $2,500 award to assist each fellow with the successful development and launch of their creative business. Through increased visibility, marketing and networking we assist each fellow to integrate into local and regional markets and access to professional development.

TFA’s Creative Entrepreneur Fellows are artists who demonstrate not only a superior level of mastery in their craft, but also the aptitude to become successful professionals capable of leading well-managed creative enterprises. Fellows represent the potential for outcomes beyond the scope of their individual bodies of work and are viewed as future contributors to growing local economies and businesses that make communities more desirable places for all.

The Tamarack Foundation for the Arts is a West Virginia nonprofit organization which offers programs designed to support artists in all stages of their development. Through fellowships and professional development training the foundation fosters emerging artists, assists mid-career artists and showcases master artists. Questions about the program can be directed to Robby Moore, TFA’s Art Extension Educator, in partnership with WVSU Extension Service, at robby@tamarackfoundation.org. Visit www.tamarackfoundation.org for more information about TFA and all of their programming.
