Elkins, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins College is prepared to host the 46th annual Deja Vu Music on Saturday, May 2nd. The festival will be held at Citizens Bank of West Virginia Amphitheatre and will feature Cloverdale Records artist Sam Burchfield alongside a wealth of supporting artists. Gates open at 4:00 p.m., with tickets for general admission available for $20 advance and $25 at the door.

The festival is further supported by community food trucks, local art vendors, a beer garden, and an inflatable setup to the side of the stage.

“A Davis & Elkins College tradition is heading toward its 46th year!” says Coordinator of Campus Activities Tammy Dickens. “Deja Vu is a special musical weekend for D&E students and the Elkins community, and it’s been such a joy to the have the opportunity to organize this event for the second time. This year’s theme, “Mountains, Music, and Memories,” captures what we’re creating—an evening filled with community, laughter, and connection.

“We leaned into a classic music festival vibe, highlighting incredible local, regional, and nationally-touring acts, including: Mack’s Garage: An acoustic trio of native West Virginians and lifelong musicians who bring a rich and resonant sound to the Deja Vu stage; Emily Miller & Jesse Milnes: An award-winning and nationally beloved duo known for their old-time fiddling and classic country charm; Hello June: A dynamic female-fronted indie/alt rock group celebrated by NPR, No Depression, and others; Cassidy Dickens & The Forget Me Nots: An award-winning WV native and Nashville-vetted recording artist; and our headliner, Sam Burchfield: A Blue Ridge Mountain native turned viral Americana/ Indie Rock sensation. Who needs Coachella when we have Deja Vu right here in Elkins?”

Burchfield has built an extensive catalog since beginning in 2014. At college in Athens, Georgia, he found opportunities emerging in rapid succession, winning a songwriting competition, recording his first EP, and trusting the creative wisdom of his close network to navigate compounding offers from network television and major labels. His latest release, Nature Speaks, is an invitation into a rooted life, capturing the meaning of a family’s unconditional love, a hometown’s soothing mountainscape, and a sturdy salvation in knowing who you are.

“Deja Vu brings out campus to life with music, fun, and community,” says Dean of Students Kate Garlick. “We’re excited to bring back the festival vibe with a full weekend of events, kicking things off with the Student & Staff Talent Show on Friday night, followed by inflatables, food trucks, and the main festivities on Saturday. It’s the kind of experience that truly makes D&E such a special place.”

Tickets are available for purchase at itickets.com/events/485903, and all of Saturday’s events are open to the public. This event is open to audiences of all ages.
