Elizabeth “Betty” Virginia Coffman, 74, of Clarksburg, passed away on May 24, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on April 5, 1952 to the late Howard Sherman Watson and Elizabeth (Snyder) Watson.
Elizabeth worked as a cook at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Stonewood. She loved to play bingo, poker and cards as well as go to flea markets and yard sales and loved spending time with her loved ones.
She is survived by two daughters: Sharon Goldsmith of Buckhannon and Elizabeth Virginia Coffman of Clarksburg; one son, Brian Coffman and wife Jennifer of Ohio; grandchildren: Crissy Coffman and companion Tyler Thomas, Nicholas Coffman, Lisa Day and husband Wesley, Victoria Winkler and husband Micky, Brian Goldsmith, Ramond Johnson II and wife Mariya, Andrew Johnson and wife Jasmine, Hunter Coffman, BreAnna Coffman and Braden Coffman; great grandchildren: Damian Winkler, Gabriel Winkler, Roswell Winkler, Ambrose Winkler, Michael Winkler, Grayson Johnson, Emma Johnson, River Johnson, Stephen Thomas, Ellyana Day, Stella Day and Benjamin Day; two sisters: Jeanie Swiger of Bridgeport and Mary Lawrence of Pickerington, OH; two brothers: Bobby Watson of Clarksburg and Larry Watson of Reynoldsburg, OH as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, James Victor Coffman; one sister, Sharon Murphy and four brothers: Howard “Junior” Watson, Harold James Watson, David Watson and Jimmy Watson.
Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 11:00AM until time of service 1:00PM with Pastor Charles Madaus officiating. Interment to Greenlawn Cemetery.
