Gary Wayne Long, 68, of Monongah, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Pierpont Center in Fairmont. He was born December 8, 1955 in Fairmont, a son of the late Granville William and Iva Pearl Moore Long. Gary was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debra Kay Eagle Long, who died September 14, 2020.
He is survived by his daughters, Natalea Munn of Weirton; Debra Eagle of Kalamazoo, MI; Deidre Geer; Ivory Long; Alexis Long; and Myah Long, all of Monongah; his grandchildren, Noriko Gray; Seanna Eagle; Madyson Blodgett; Ayshia Marris; and Nathan Munn; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Ellen Carroll and her husband Tommy; Nancy Wells; Annie White and her husband Jake; his brother, Bill Long and his wife Wendy; as well as his brother-in-law, Luke Goudy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gary was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Goudy; Debbie Long; and Patricia Ann Long; and his brother, Granville William Long, Jr.
Gary was employed at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. He loved music and played bass and lead guitar in a band for many years. Gary was a good family man who’s pride and joy was his grandchildren. He was also a very active member of the Higher Rock Church in Shinnston.
