If you need to be convinced that Fall is here,I will  share a few thoughts with you.  Early yesterday morning on my ride home from church, I noticed that the beautiful plush green trees had a tint of color to them. This is what those cool nights do to them.  I imagine  that it will not be long until our beautiful  fall  colors will be in full bloom.  Another sign of fall are those cool mornings.  I love to take my coffee out on the deck early in the morning, but now .i find that I must use my Yeti to keep it hot and I feel a little more comfortable if I bring a throw out to cuddle under.   I was at the Farmers Market about 8:30 AM and I really needed a jacket. Another sure sign of Fall are the football games and a reminder, is to be sure and dress warmly.  When the sun goes down the temperature drops.

Fall also changes our style of eating.  We crave those heavier dishes such as minestra,  pasta fagoli and all those wonderful soups.  I have to admit that some of the best vegetable soup I have eaten was made by my son in law Andy,  he made it from scratch and it had a wonderful taste.  In the next couple of weeks. I want to try a broccoli soup from a new recipe I found and of course there is nothing that compares to a hot bowl of potato soup.  You might want to try a hot bowl of French onion soup.  This is a very simple soup to make.  Use about three medium onions cleaned and chopped. Add them to a broth mixture of beef broth and beef bouillon cubes.  You may have to try this until you achieve the taste you want.  When the onions are soft place the broth and onions is a pottery soup bowl..  cover the top of the soup with bread cubes and then sprinkle chopped mozzarella over the cubes.  Place in microwave until the cheese is melted. Serve immediately while hot and Is delicious served with a good Italian salad.  Nothing will ever beat the basic tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich.  Just a reminder to take a nice walk this Fall, and rake up a pile of leaves and take the kids and rollin them.  No better way to celebrate Fall.

If you are a senior I urge you to check on the activities going on at the Senior Center.  You can play bingo, make ceramics or exercise at the Center.  Meals are served daily.  You can also get information

On food boxes, in home services and transportation.  Go to the Center and join and get all this info for your future.  The director is Beth O Field and she serves our seniors for every need.

I urge you to check the Calendar Of Events for our area.  There are so many events planned for Fall and for the upcoming Holiday season.  I especially urge. You to attend those great shows at the Robinson Grand Creative Arts Center.  There is much for you to do in our area.  Do not spend the season sitting at home.  There is so much to do and a lot of it is free.  Get in the habit of going out.  Being with others is good for our physical and mental health.

Take care of yourself and until next week “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
