Grapevine

By Rosalyn Queen

Over 100 members of the Morgantown Sons and Daughters of Italy and the William Marconi Lodge SONS AND Daughters of Italy gathered to observe Columbus Day.  The combined clubs met at Murials Restaurant on Monday, October 14 for a buffet dinner.  The two lodges have been planning combined meetings throughout the year to exchange ideas and to enjoy fellowship among the members.

Richard Vigilianco addressed the group about the importance of observing Columbus Day and some of the different ways other Lodges promote Columbus Day. Rocky Romano welcomed the group and led them in prayer prior to the meal.

Queen was appointed as chairman of the Christopher Columbus FellowshipFoundation by President Bush.  She participated yearly in Washington D. C. In the Columbus Day Celebration by placing a wreath at the statue of Christopher Columbus located in D. C.

Romano announced that the next meeting of the Clarksburg Lodge will be held at thenFOP. He also announced that plans are being formulated for the Christmas party that will be held at the Best Western in December.

The meeting closed with a social hour for members.

Remember to protect yourself against the current Covid 19 strain.

Stay healthy and until next week,”Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
