It’s that time once again to acknowledge the efforts of Harrison County’s student-athletes. Each week we review the performances of the athletes from the six schools (Bridgeport, Liberty, Lincoln, Notre Dame, Robert C. Byrd, and South Harrison) in our county.
The Shinnston News & Harrison County Journal’s Athlete of the Week award is an avenue to promote the youth of our county while bringing attention to their athletic accomplishments.
The Harrison County Athletes in the Spotlight this week are Bridgeport’s Olivia Bell and Anderson McDougal.
Indian basketball player Olivia Bell had a great night scoring a career best 25 points to lead her team to a win over Robert C. Byrd. Bell also added four rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals.
Indian hoopster Anderson McDougal has been on a roll lately. He had a double-double (20 points and 10 rebounds) in a win over Hampshire, 17 points in a victory over RCB, and another double-double (18 points and 12 caroms) in a triumph over Preston.
Congratulations to Bridgeport’s Olivia Bell and Anderson McDougal for shining bright in the SN and HCJ spotlight!
