HCS Students Excel at 2025 Regional Social Studies Fair

Harrison County Schools is excited to celebrate our students who placed at the 2025 Region 7 Social Studies Fair! Students from across the county shared their research and creative ideas on a wide range of topics. We also want to thank all the students who participated — your hard work and enthusiasm made us proud!

Students who earned 1st place will move on to the West Virginia State Social Studies Fair in April at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center!

Here are this year’s winners from HCS:

Johnson Elementary

  • Economics – 2nd Place: Lilly Cheatham – Beyond the Dry Season
  • Economics – 1st Place: Annabel Francis & Gabe Romano – Dating the Boy on the Football Team – How a Love Story Altered the Economy of the NFL

Lincoln High School

  • Sociology – 3rd Place: Irissa Earnest – Beatlemania, How Did It Come Together

Lincoln Middle School

  • Psychology – 3rd Place: Cooper Klimek & Ethan Kisamore – Uruguayan Flight 571: The Miracle of the Andes World History
  • 3rd Place: Brooke Robertson – The Civilization of Sumer

Mountaineer Middle School

  • State & Local Studies – 2nd Place: Dylan Miller & Dimitry Miller – The Drought Crisis in the Mountains
  • State & Local Studies – 3rd Place: Avery Stewart – The WV Penitentiary

Nutter Fort Intermediate

  • Sociology – 3rd Place: Raegan Lopez – The Fear of the Unknown: Witch Edition

Salem Elementary

  • State & Local Studies – 3rd Place: Caden Morlock – Echoes of the Asylum

South Harrison Middle School

  • Anthropology – 3rd Place: Aubrey Gould & Kaleigh Brosius – Furtraders
