Appreciation Extended To AARP Tax Aides

Many thanks to the AARP Tax-Aide Volunteers for giving unselfishly of three months of their time and talents to provide free tax assistance to seniors, low-income and veterans at our Senior Center as well as other locations in the county during tax season..  Everyone appreciated their service.

Please remember that the AARP Tax Aide Foundation is always looking for volunteers to help with this valuable service.  Training is available.

Disposal Of Medications

Senator Joe Manchin has provided the Harrison County Senior Center with a case of bags for seniors to safely dispose of old medications in their home.  Add up to 45 pills or liquid; seal; shake; and throw away in your regular trash.  The carbon materials will deactivate the medication and make it safe for the landfill.

See Stacey Tennant, RN, In-Home Services, for a disposal bag.
