John Everett Stire

John Everett Stire, 79, of Lumberport, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at the United Hospital Center. He was born in Gypsy, August 2, 1944, a son of the late Donald Thurmond Stire, Sr. and the late Delia Maude Lindsey Stire.

Surviving are his siblings: Lois Markley and her husband David, Lumberport, Leica Coen, Bridgeport, and Kenneth Stire and his wife Carol, Lumberport; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his good friend, Joey Crutch of AZ.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings: Donald Stire, Jr., Robert Stire, Charles Stire, Frank Stire, Tom Stire, Shirley Bunnell, Mary Ellen Stire, Stella Wright, and Betty Harris, who passed away earlier the same day. He was also preceded in death by his companion, Kate Flowers and his brothers-in-law, Donald Gore and Frank Harris.

John was a jack of all trades who had worked in many different areas. He did whatever needed to be done. He enjoyed watching and feeding the deer and geese. He will be missed.

The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm, Thursday, April 4, with Pastor Jeff Stire officiating. Interment will be in the Lion’s Club Cemetery in Lumberport. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Stire family.
