John Kenneth Beverly, Sr., 80, of Lumberport, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Rosewood Center in Grafton. He was born June 4, 1943 in Sardis, a son of the late John Edison and Maude O’Dell Beverly.

In 1965, John married Roberta Rose Beverly who preceded him in death on October 4, 2010.

He is survived by his two sons, John K. Beverly, Jr and his wife Linda of Lumberport; and Franklin “Scott” Beverly and his wife Rebecca of Flemington; his grandchildren, Tiffany Helke and her husband Thomas; and Cerinity Beverly, both of Grafton; Dominic Beverly; Cheyenne Beverly; Olivia Beverly; and Zane Beverly, all of Flemington; and Isabel Harbert of Lumberport; and his great-granddaughter, Lindsey Helke.

In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by his grandsons, Edison and Lucian Beverly; his siblings, Charles “Whitey” Beverly; Bernard Joseph Beverly; June Reed; Effie Flanigan; Charles “Pete” Beverly; Sarah Layton; John Roy Beverly; and William Beverly.

John was an avid college football and basketball fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going for drives through the county side.

Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Sunday from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 5th, at 11:00am with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown. Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Army. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contribution be made to Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, WV 26431.
