The deadline for children to register for the Shinnston Soccer Association is Feb. 28. The association has leagues available for those born between 2008 and 2018.
“We are a recreational league, so there are no try-outs, and we welcome all skill levels in all age groups, even kids who have never touched a ball before,” said Wendy Spurling, association registrar.
Teams can expect to practice and play roughly three times a week from mid-March to early June. The home fields are at Nuzum’s Trucking.
In-person registration will be held at School Square, near the old Fox’s Pizza, on Feb. 12 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. For those needing equipment, the association provides gently used cleats and shin guards at the registration event. Registration fees vary by age, with discounts available for multiple children.
