Largest Soccer Club In State To Hold Season Tryouts

The largest soccer club in W.Va. for kids ages 7 – 19 is offering tryouts for the 2017-18 season on June 6 at Barboursville Park in Barboursville, W.Va. Tryouts are open to the public.

All skills are welcome. The tryouts are broken down by age brackets beginning with ages 7-10 at 5:30 p.m. and ages 11-18 will tryout at 6:45 p.m. In between these age brackets, there will be a club meeting and barbeque to kick off the start of a new season and allow parents and players to meet and greet.

The West Virginia Futbol Club promotes growth and raises the standard of youth soccer throughout the state. The WVFC sponsors, organizes and administers soccer programs – which include the highest levels of play, guidance, instruction and competition. The club emphasizes skill development, teamwork and good sportsmanship for the committed soccer player. With diverse programs open to players ages 7 to 19, from the recreational to the elite level, we aspire to help young players build a love for the game while also building good character.

The club currently has about 500 players from across the state. Practices are held in Charleston, Teays Valley and Huntington. This is a travel soccer program; therefore, consistent travel is involved.
