Lenten Services Begin March 1st In Shinnston

The Shinnston Area Council of Churches will host weekly Lenten Services at First United Methodist Church in Shinnston every Wednesday, beginning March 1st.  Services begin at noon in the sanctuary.

In addition, Bible Study will be conducted each Wednesday throughout the Lenten season beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Boggs of FUMC speaking around on the theme “At the Crossroads”.

Following each Lenten Service, those attending are invited to partake of fellowship and a soup luncheon provided by the church of that week’s presiding pastor in the Epworth Center of FUMC.

The Lenten schedule is as follows:

March 1st – Pastor Kevin Nuzum of First Baptist Church

March 8th – Pastor Sonny Palmer of Coon’s Run Baptist Church

March 15th – Father Thomas Dagle of St. Ann’s Catholic Church

March 22nd – Pastor Brad Blanchard of Lumberport Baptist Church

March 29th – Pastor Harry Holbert of Peora UMC Charge

April 5th – Pastor Aaron Thomas of Family Life Fellowship

Fri., April 14th – Good Friday Service at noon with Pastor Darrell Pierce of Charles St. Christian Church.

A Love Offering received at each service will go to further the work of the Shinnston Area Council of Churches.
