Dear Editor:
I have been blessed with the task of operating and managing our Community Garden for the three years of its existence. And although it has been a lot of hard work, it truly has been a blessing. We have provided fresh vegetables to The Lord’s Pantry. We have provided some practical experience for our school children. And we have brought some interest to a vacant lot.
Regretfully, it is time for me to retire from this project. I have some serious health issues that are probably not going to go away.
Our Garden is a very casual operation — no officers, no bylaws, no dues … just a group of big-hearted and hard-working volunteers. And they need some help and guidance to keep this project alive. I would to hate to see it turn into a weed bed or a parking lot. Please let me know that you can help.
For more information and encouragement, contact Pastor Cindy Boggs at the First Methodist Church, Kathleen Panek at The Gillum House Bed and Breakfast, or me.
Sincerely,
Lee Reger
