LADY OF PEACE MEETING

Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Peace Assembly 1184 will hold its regular meeting for all Fourth Degree members on Monday, March 20 with dinner at Raymon’s Restaurant at 6:30 pm with meeting to follow at 7:30 pm at the Robert Petitto Hall.  Please contact Dave Morris at 304-669-9918 with any questions.

 

LENTEN SERVICE

Lenten Services will be held at first United Methodist Church in Shinnston at noon on Wednesday, March 22nd  with Pastor Brad Blanchard of Lumberport Otterbein UMC Charge presiding.  A love offering will be received to further the work of the Shinnston Area Council of Churches.  Those attending are invited to partake of fellowship and a soup luncheon following the service.  Reverend Cindy Boggs will hold Bible Study prior to the Lenten Service at 11 am in Epworth Center.

 

HAM AND BEAN DINNER

Jones Run Farm Community Building (3602 Jones Run Rd) will be having a ham and bean dinner on Saturday, March 18th from 11 am to 5 pm.  Meal includes big bowl of beans with ham, cornbread, coleslaw, dessert and drink. EASTER BREAD SALE

CCC MEETING

The Civilian Conservation Corps Museum Association will have their monthly meeting on Sunday, March 19th at the CCC Museum in Quiet Dell at 2 pm.  The public is welcome to attend.

 

SHINNSTON COMMUNITY GARDEN MEETING

The Shinnston Community Garden will have an organizational meeting on Thursday, March 23rd at 5:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Shinnston.  Please call 304-218-9703 for more information.  Anyone interested in helping with the garden is invited to join us.

 

DIVORCECARE SUPPORT GROUP

A 13 week DivorceCare support group is being offered at the First United Methodist Church in Shinnston.  Rev. Craig Blankenship will be the leader of the adult group and Rev. STEP UP FOR WOMEN

Step Up for Women is actively interviewing for an 11-week construction training class.  The program will prepare students for jobs in the skilled trades and union apprenticeship.  The program is completely grant funded so there is absolutely no cost to students.  Classes begin March 6, 2017.  To complete the application process you may go online to www.wvwomenwork.org/stepup or for a paper application you may call Misty Nicholas at 304-598-0114.

BEEKEEPERS SHORT COURSE

The WV Beekeepers Assoc. is having a beginner beekeeping course in Westover on April 1,8, and 15. The cost is $50 per individual and $70 per couple. You must attend all three classes to complete the course.    This includes your instruction, the Penn State Beginner beekeeping class book and a 1 year membership with the WV state Beekeepers Assoc.
