Lincoln High School has announced that Lindsey Marie LaNeve and Anthony James Kellar have been named January Students of the Month.
Lindsey LaNeve is the daughter of Todd and Tammy LaNeve of Shinnston. She is the granddaughter of Ronald and Nichy LaNeve and Rex and Sue Agin.
Lindsey enrolled at Lincoln High School in the fall of 2016 from Emmanuel Christian where she was a perfect honor roll student, participated in cheerleading, volleyball, choir, and was a lead in the school play. While at Lincoln, Lindsey has maintained the perfect honor roll, as well as being a member of the Key Club and Book Club, and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society. She is taking several AP courses and has over a 4.0 GPA as well as being a Promise Scholarship recipient. Lindsey received a perfect score of 36 on the Reading portion of the ACT.
Lindsey has spent many hours volunteering at the Humane Society, Clarksburg Mission, and is very active in her church by helping as a nursery worker and at children’s church. She has also participated in Choric Speaking through WVCEA.
Lindsay plans on attending Fairmont State University to major in Chemistry in order to go into the medical field and major in Dermatology.
Anthony Kellar is the son of Mike and Missy Kellar, previously of Bethlehem, now residing in Hickory, North Carolina. He is the grandson of Jim Verah, Linda Verah, and the late Mike and Judy Kellar.
During Anthony’s four years at Lincoln High School, he has been on the honor roll each six weeks, received his Academic letter his freshman year and was named as Top Scholar in Speech II and Sociology. Anthony was also awarded the Academic Athlete of the Year during the Frank Loria Dinner his junior year. He is currently attending Fairmont State University and taking classes at the Caperton Center. Anthony has also qualified as a Promise Scholar.
Anthony has been very active during his time at Lincoln High School. He is a member of the Key Club participating in numerous activities, Future Coaches Club, Yearbook Staff, and participated in the annual Powder Puff game during homecoming week all four years of high school. Anthony was also selected by his peers to serve on the Prom Court his junior year and the Homecoming Court his sophomore and senior years.
Anthony is a four year member of the varsity football team and was a key player in the team advancing to the playoffs for the second straight year and winning Lincoln’s first ever playoff game. During his sophomore year, Anthony was named 2nd Team All County and 2nd Team Big 10. His junior year he made 1st Team All County, All State Special Honorable Mention, and 1st Team Big 10. This year he was named to the 1st Team All County, 1st Team All Big 10, and 2nd Team All State. Anthony is also a four year member of the varsity basketball team.
Anthony is a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He recently signed a letter of intent to play college football at Lenoir Rhyne in North Carolina. His major is undecided at this time.
