Late last month, the West Virginia Athletic Directors held their annual dinner for the 47th time. Attendees and honorees gathered at the Stonewall Jackson Resort for the event.
One very accomplished Lincoln High School athlete took home a scholarship award.
Sadie Adams, daughter of Jennifer L. Adams, received recognition for her slate of accomplishments. These were topped by a 4.50 grade point average, a class rank of two of 120 students. Other academic accomplishments include the Top Scholar Award from US Comprehension, fro Spanish I and physical education, as well as participation in the Chik-Fil-A Leadership Summit School.
Adams also earned four letters in both volleyball and basketball. In both years, she earned a team captain role during her junior and senior seasons.
Other athletic honors include the WVSSAC Academic Achievement Award, all state in volleyball and basketball, first team all conference in basketball as junior and volleyball as a senior.
Adams demonstrated leadership by serving as student body secretary, participating on the student council executive committee, junior class secretary, Key Club secretary, and National Honor Society and Science Honor Society.
Community service also contributed to her selection. Adams participated in the Feed A family Holiday Food Drive, Special Olympics Field Day With Friends, was a Challenger League Volunteer Buddy, a red Cross blood drive volunteer, and a Veterans Affairs Hospital Volunteer.
