As we step into March, Harrison Economic Development Corporation is excited to share several encouraging updates that highlight the continued growth and energy across our region.
Last month, HEDC was selected to receive two major Site Readiness Grants, a testament to the confidence our partners and stakeholders have in Harrison County’s economic potential. These grants will support our efforts to develop and market two of our key sites, ensuring we remain at the forefront of economic development in north-central West Virginia. Our next step is building a comprehensive plan to showcase these sites effectively attracting new investment, supporting existing businesses, and advancing our community’s vision for future prosperity.
We also celebrate the ongoing momentum around key local projects. WVU Medicine’s new 48 Million Surgery Center in Bridgeport represents a major investment in healthcare access and job creation in the heart of our region. In Clarksburg, Healthy Harrison’s collaboration with the City to explore transforming the former YMCA building into an adventure and occupational therapy center is a creative example of how community wellness and adaptive reuse can work hand in hand. Together, these efforts strengthen both the health and vitality of our local economy.
Additionally, we are thrilled to see Pierpont’s $25 Million aviation facility project back on track. This initiative holds tremendous promise for future students seeking hands-on technical training that leads directly to high-paying jobs in one of West Virginia’s most dynamic industries.
Momentum continues to build across Harrison County, and HEDC remains committed to connecting resources, partnerships, and opportunities that keep our communities thriving.
