The North Central West Virginia Parkinson support group meeting will be held on Saturday, June 29 th at the Brickside Bar and Grill, Bridgeport WV. The meeting room is available from 12 to 1 pm for anyone who would like to grab lunch before the presentation beginning at 1 pm.
The guest speaker for this month will be George Manahan. Mr. Manahan is the owner of a public relations firm in Charleston, WV. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 14 years ago. Since then, he has started the largest support group in Charleston, WV in 2012, has led efforts to pass legislation establishing a West Virginia Parkinson’s Registry, worked with U.S. Senator Shelly Moore Capito and the Michael J. Fox foundation to pass legislation for a “national plan to end Parkinson’s disease.”
Finally, he also received the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s 2023 Hero of
