Paula Harrison, 78, of Shinnston, passed away on May 8, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born on June 24, 1946, a daughter to the late Blair and Helen Crawford. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Pickle” Harrison; brother Big Dave Crawford; and grandparents George and Dortha Dorsey who raised her.

She is survived by her children, Billie (Dave) Ayers, Richard Harrison and companion Betty Felts, and Christopher Harrison; grandchildren Heather Rachele McGee and David William (Jessica) Ayers; great-grandchildren Jadyn Ayers, Skylar and Ryker McGee, and Zachariah Ayers; sister-in-law Donna Crawford, and several nieces and nephews.

Paula was a former Assistant Librarian at Shinnston Library. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Shinnston, and belonged to Eastern Star, Shinnston Garden Club, Shinnston Rebekah’s, and Harrison County Senior Center. She was the 1962 Shinnston Frontier Days Queen, loved to read, take trips to the mountains, and spend time with her family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to WVU Hospice and Sherry Sellers of Country Living Personal Care Home.

A graveside service will be held at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:00AM with Pastor Jim Nuzum officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Harrison County 2450 Saltwell Rd. Shinnston, WV 26431.
