MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Peak Health and WVU Medicine are pleased to announce a groundbreaking new partnership with Mylan Park, West Virginia’s premier recreation, sport, health, and wellness complex.

On July 1, Mylan Park’s aquatic center will be named the Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park, and the track complex will be named the Peak Health Track and Field Complex. In addition, Mylan Park’s splashpad area and waterslides will be named for WVU Medicine Children’s.

Under the new partnership, Peak Health and Mylan Park will collaborate to further their shared commitment to bring more health and wellness opportunities to West Virginia. Notably, all members and beneficiaries of Peak Health’s health insurance plans will now have free access to the Aquatic Center and other Mylan Park recreation and fitness facilities through the Mylan Park MyPARK Pass program. Details on how to access these services will be forthcoming to Peak Health members.

“We are very excited. This partnership advances Peak Health’s mission to be an inclusive, provider-led health plan that helps West Virginian’s live healthier and fuller lives and supports WVU Medicine’s mission of building healthier futures for our children,” Ben Gerber, CEO of Peak Health and chief strategy officer for the WVU Health System, said.

The Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park is a state-of-the-art and fully accessible 90,000-square-foot facility featuring a 50-meter Olympic pool and diving well. Additionally, the facility houses a community pool with zero-depth entry, water slides and play features, a six-lane lap pool, an outdoor splash pad, multi-purpose rooms to rent, and a fitness room.

The Peak Health Track and Field Complex is an eight-lane, prefabricated, synthetic Mondo Super-X surfaced facility that features four long-jump and triple-jump pits, LED stadium lighting, steeple chase, high-jump, pole vault, and several throw areas for javelin, shot put, and discus. Encompassed by scenic views of the surrounding mountains, it is fitted with a top-of-the-line timing system, cameras, and video scoreboard. The track is also lined for high school and collegiate competition with seating for more than 2,000 spectators, on-site parking, a press box, ticket booth, restrooms, and concessions.

The WVU Medicine Children’s Outdoor Splash Pad features dumping buckets and troughs, sprayers, geysers, sprinklers, and more on top of a non-slip concrete surface.

“Mylan Park is proud to welcome Peak Health and WVU Medicine,” Ron Justice, president of the Mylan Park Foundation, said. “MyPark is a great opportunity for members to enjoy the Mylan Park first-class facilities.”
