Margaret “Peggy” Coster, the CEO/CNO of Fairmont Regional Medical Center has announced her retirement effective April 30, 2017.

Coster, who has been employed at the hospital for almost 38 years, has served as the CEO since 2013.  Coster was instrumental in the successful transition of the hospital from a not-for-profit to a for-profit that was purchased by Alecto Healthcare Services, LLC in September 2014.

Coster, a Fairmont native with degrees from both Fairmont State University and West Virginia University, indicated that the timing was right for her to retire.  “I have been contemplating this for a period of time and the timing is just right.  I have had a wonderful career here at FRMC and am pleased to be leaving when the hospital has been turned around and a successful and important part of providing quality healthcare in this area.   The people of Fairmont and Marion County have been wonderful to work with and they deserve a successful and thriving hospital.”

Lex Reddy, the President and CEO of Alecto Healthcare Services, praised Coster for her service:  “Peggy was essential to our transition of Fairmont General to Fairmont Regional Medical Center.  We are thankful for her years of hard work and dedication and wish her well in retirement.  She will be missed.”

According to Mike Garrison, Counsel to Fairmont Regional Medical Center, “Peggy took over as CEO at a very challenging time in the hospital’s history, and it is a job that she did not pursue.  Nonetheless, Peggy did what she always does – what is best for the hospital and the people of the community.  She is a caregiver at her core and everyone is grateful for her distinguished service.”
