Robert “Bob” Lilley age 70, of Lumberport, West Virginia, passed away at his home on August 27, 2024. Born on March 8, 1954, Bob loved the outdoors, manifesting his passions through fishing and hunting. A creative spirit, he crafted unique bird flower holders from recycled golf cart tires. Bob, also cherished playing cards with friends and enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his beloved wife, Shirley.
Bob spent his career at Blackville #2 mine, dedicating many years to his work before retiring. Bob also served his country as a member of the Army National Guard and Reserves.
He leaves behind his wife, Shirley Nicholson Lilley; son, Jonathan Lilley; stepsons J Nicholson and Chuck Nicholson; grandchildren, Morgan Lilley, Makayla Lilley, Madison Smith, and Connor Lilley; siblings, Diane Savage, Mary Ship, Chloyd Lilley, Jimmy Lilley and John Gwynn also several niece nephews and great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Mary and Frank Gwynn, his daughter, Amanda Lilley, and long time friends Sam and Joanna DeMarco.
A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at the Lumberport United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00PM. Friends, family, and others whose life Bob has touched, are invited to attend in his honor and memory.
