Hartis Gene McIntire

Hartis Gene McIntire, 90, of Worthington, passed away on August 27, 2024. He was born in Bingamon on March 24, 1934, a son to the late Hartis D. McIntire and Lora O’Dell. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Marie Henderson; brothers Edward Ivan McIntire, Frederick Junior McIntire, and Edgar W. McIntire; and sisters Pauline Fortney and Anita Kuhens.

He is survived by his wife of over 67 years, Shelby Jo McIntire; sons Richard Gene McIntire and wife Judy of Dolly Sods, and Mark Steve McIntire and wife Lela of Bingamon; daughter Sandra McIntire and companion Bill Medina of VA; son-in-law Thomas Henderson of Bingamon; sister Janice Wolford of Fairmont; grandchildren Jessica Rollins, Cody McIntire and wife Sarah, Loran Lowdermilk and husband Chris, and great-grandchildren Maddisyn Fazalare, Devin Fazalare, , Eden Lowdermilk, Jacey Rollins, Owen Lowdermilk, and Bailey McIntire.

Hartis served in the US Army and was in the Korean War. He was a member of the Monongah Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He also belonged to the Sons of the Revolution, and Worthington Lions Club. He enjoyed visiting with his grandkids, going to church, and hunting and fishing.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 30th, 2024 at 11:00AM at Enterprise Cemetery with Pastor David Huckins officiating.
