Robert Eugene Shields, 79, of Stonewood, passed away on April 23, 2026 at the Lois A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born May 12, 1946 in Wilsonburg to the late Mary Rose Shields.
Robert proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Lockheed Martin, working as mechanic. He enjoyed car shows and fast cars.
He is survived by his three sons: Curtis Shields and companion Sherry Sigley of Rivesville, Michael Shields of Clarksburg and Dylan Shields of Kodiak, TN; one sister, Stephaney Williams of Fairmont as well as several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Robert is preceded in death by one brother, Richard “Skeeter” Shields.
Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 10:00 AM until time of service 12:30 PM with Evangelist Ron Lee officiating. Interment to West Virginia National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by The United States Army and Taylor County Honor Guard.
