Senior Nutrition Mission is a monthly food program through the US Department of Agriculture and CSFP. This program targets senior citizens age 60 and above with income at or below 130% of the federal poverty level.
Requirements to qualify include:
- Age 60 or older, living in Harrison County.
- Combined month household income cannot exceed $1,287/month for a 1-person household; $1,736/month for a 2-person household; and for each additional household member, add $451.
The monthly box of food includes: 4 cans of vegetables, 2 cans of fruit, 2 cartons of shelf-stable milk, 2 bottles of juice, 2 boxes of cereal, 2 cans of meat, 1 jar of peanut butter, 2 bags of pasta, and 1 two-pound block of cheese.
