award was presented to Jim, along with a check which will be presented in his honor to a charity

of his choice. Shinnston Mayor Rodney Strait joined in the presentation.

Jim Jarrett truly reflects the values that are set for this designation. Jim and his wife, Nancy,

Emergency Service systems, Fire Service and 9ll Communications systems in the United States.

Many emergency Service providers from around the United States and Canada have emulated

the systems of Harrison County, WV. to modernize their respective systems. The current 9LL

Communication Headquarters for Harrison County has been named in his honor. He has given

numerous hours as a Volunteer Firefighter with Shinnston Fire Department and as a training

instructor for West Virginia University and a “volunteer WV State Fire Marshal, in charge of

Hazardous Materials lncidents for Northern WV. He has created many of the fire service programs that are being taught today.

Modern Woodman of America, along with the citizens of this area, congratulate James S. Jarrett

with a, well deserved, “Home Town Hero” designation as his accomplishments and dedication

to the community which he served. He is truly a “Home Town Hero”.
