Steven Leonard Menendez, 54, of Fairmont passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at his residence. He was born March 24, 1970 at Clarksburg, a son of the late Joseph M. and Brenda Lee Phillips Menendez.
Steven was preceded in death by his brother Aaron B. Menendez
He is survived by his wife, Joye K. Menendez, whom he married August 13, 2001; his sons, Jason Thomas Ferrell and partner Tina, Fairmont, Justin Lee Ferrell and partner Kaneesha, Jane Lew; granddaughter, Bianca Payge Ferrell, Morgantown; Sisters-in-law, Virginia J. Bartlett, Atlanta, GA; and Kelly Miles, Shinnston; Brothers, Gerald L Menendez and wife Kelly, Mount Clare, WV, Jesse J. Menendez and wife Kimberly, Clarksburg, Joseph M. Menendez, and wife Nikki, Belington, and Timothy A. Menendez and wife Rose, Clarksburg; his sister, Brenda “Colleen” Wright and husband Brian, Jane Lew; and Frank Fernandez, who was like his father; Nieces and Nephews, Andrew Menendez and daughter Deliah, Michael Menendez and children Anna and Johnathan, Maranda Arbogast and husband Adam and children Lyla, Kiara, and Milana, Erika Stire and children Jay, Evan, and Mason, Chelsey Adams, and husband Nate, and daughter Scarlett, Marissa Clevenger and son Jaxon, Johnathan Menendez, Ryan Menendez, Brelle Menendez, and Kyre Menendez.
Steven retired after a disability with Clarksburg Police Dept. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife. He loved his dogs and loved life. When he was able physically, he enjoyed going hunting with his brothers. He was Baptist.
A friends and family gathering will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike St., Shinnston, WV from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM with Rev. Duane Bartrug officiating.
